Many Xiaomi fans are anxious to see what the Chinese company's flagship smartphone will look like, but they will still have to wait more than a month for the official unveiling of the device.

We reported in the last couple of days about the first pictures of the Xiaomi Mi5, which might have been leaked through more or less official channels.

Today, yet another picture of the handset has just popped up in China (via Mobipicker), and it looks like it confirms some of the features that we highlighted in our previous reports.

Even though the Mi5 turned from one of the most expected flagships of 2015 into one of the big promises for next year, Xiaomi's officials assure us that it will be worth the wait.

The newly leaked picture of the alleged Xiaomi Mi5 does not come from an official source, but it does look similar to the device shown in previous images we have already reported on.

USB Type-C port and Snapdragon 820 CPU

At a first glance, the Mi5 has very thin bezels and features a physical Home button that many think is very ugly. Keep in mind that these pictures are sometimes leaked ahead of an official launch to get some feedback on what fans think of a certain device.

This means that the Xiaomi Mi5's design might be changed, but not by much since the smartphone is expected to be officially unveiled on January 21.

Xiaomi Mi5 is also said to pack a USB Type-C port, though we can't say for sure from the leaked image since it's not of the highest quality.

Obviously, the smartphone will run the Chinese company's proprietary MIUI. Also, rumor has it that Xiaomi Mi5 will come equipped with a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, but a different version packing a deca-core MediaTek helio X20 CPU might be in the works, too.

Other than that, we expect more info on the Mi5's specs closer to release, so stay tuned if you're interested in Xiaomi's upcoming flagship smartphone.
