The highly anticipated Xiaomi Mi5 has just appeared in a few new images ahead of the official unveiling of the smartphone. The Chinese company has already confirmed its flagship smartphone will be launched sometime in February, after the Spring Festival.

We've already had the chance to take a look at the Mi5 since several renders of the smartphone leaked online the last couple of days.

Today, the black version of the smartphone has been caught on camera (via Weibo). These live pictures prove once again that Mi5 will feature some thin bezels and a sleek body form factor.

As many Xiaomi fans probably know by now, the Mi5 will be one of the many smartphones equipped with Qualcomm's powerful Snapdragon 820 chipset.

According to previous rumors, the Mi5 will be available in two versions based on the amount of memory packed inside. The 3GB RAM and 32GB storage model will sell for around $380, whereas the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version will be available for purchase for slightly more.

At least three color options will be available

We also know customers will be able to choose between multiple color versions, including black, white and yellow.

Also, the rumor mill confirmed the Mi5 should pack a 16-megapixel photo snapper on the back, along with an 8-megapixel selfie camera in the front.

These are all the details leaked about the Xiaomi Mi5, but we expect more images of the smartphone to pop up online as we're getting close to its official release.

Even though Xiaomi plans to launch the Mi5 ahead of Samsung's Galaxy S7 flagships that are likely to be unveiled on February 20, it's unclear when exactly the smartphone will be available for purchase.

Naturally, Xiaomi Mi5 will be initially launched in China, but we can safely assume its global rollout will follow soon enough.
