One of the most anticipated flagship smartphones in Q1 2016, the Xiaomi Mi5, is about to make its debut on the market. The device has been teased a few times by Xiaomi's officials, but we have also learned some new details about the upcoming flagship.

According to a new report coming from Chinese blog MyDrivers, Xiaomi will launch two different Mi5 versions, and not just based on the amount of memory inside.

Although we kind of expected Xiaomi to release two Mi5 versions with 3GB and 4GB RAM, respectively, new info leaked about the smartphone reveals the Chinese company has something else in mind.

It appears that the cheapest version of Xiaomi Mi5 will sport a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports full HD (1080p) resolution and 2.5D glass on top.

However, the most advanced Mi5 variant will pack a 5-inch display that supports Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution, so customers will be able to choose from either of two models.

Both models will pack similar hardware inside

The rest of the phone's specs are likely to be similar for both models, which means they should come equipped with powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processors, coupled with 4GB of RAM.

It's unclear whether or not Xiaomi will also launch 3GB RAM variants of these Mi5 models, but we are likely to find out more in less than two weeks.

Rumor has it that Xiaomi Mi5 will include an advanced 16-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus, LED flash, and 4K video recording, as well as a secondary 13-megapixel camera in the front for selfies and video calls.

Also, the smartphone should be powered by a generous 3,600 mAh battery that should include Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 technology.

Last but not least, Xiaomi Mi5 is now expected to be officially unveiled on January 21, but it won't be available for purchase until February 8.
