14 DAY TRIAL // As you probably know by now, Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Mi4c smartphone during an event scheduled for tomorrow, September 22.
And while we wait for the big event, the company is taking the opportunity to tease some of the special features of the device to pique the interest of consumers even before the handset goes live.
Today, the company’s co-founder and president Lin Bin has posted a bunch of teaser images on his Weibo account (via Tech Grapple) to show us how well the 5MP front camera can perform. The selfie shooter will feature an 85-degree super wide angle, thus making it equivalent to a 24mm wide angle camera. This means that 6 to 7 people will be able to fit into the shot without a problem.
Interestingly, a selfie shot taken with the Xiaomi Mi4c gets flat out compared with an image snapped by the iPhone 6 in order to show us that the former is able to cover more area. The Apple iPhone 6 features a 1.2MP selfie camera.
What to expect from the Xiaomi Mi4c
According to what we know so far, the selfie shooter is not going to be the only cool aspect on board the Mi4c. If the information we have at our disposal is correct, the Mi4c features a decent 5-inch capacitive touchscreen display with support for full HD (1080p) resolution and 438ppi (pixel per inch).
The phone takes advantage of a 1.8GHz hexa-core Snapdragon 808 on the inside, complemented by an Adreno 418 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM out of the box. The China-exclusive model features a 13MP photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and full HD (1080p) video recording, while on the front there’s a secondary 5MP camera for video calls and such.
Last but not least, the Mi4c supports 4G LTE Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0 and GPS/AGPS. It relies on a 3,000 mAh battery and will ship out with Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box with MIUI 7 on top.
Recently, we told you that even though the handset is expected to arrive with a USB Type-C, microUSB-compatibility will also be made available for those who prefer doing things the old-fashioned way.
