Xiaomi fans have been quite confused by the fact that the Mi5 comes with such a small display for a flagship smartphone. Although previous rumors suggested the Mi5 should boast a curved-edge screen, Xiaomi decided to include a traditional one inside its top-tier phone.

However, one of the most popular Xiaomi smartphones, the Mi Note, is rumored to feature the highly anticipated curved-edge display, GizChina reports.

The second-generation Xiaomi Mi Note won’t be released for a few months now since the Chinese company wants to capitalize on the recent Mi5 launch, but the phablet should be unveiled sometime later this summer.

As the name suggests, Xiaomi Mi Note will compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Note series, but only in China. Xiaomi hasn’t yet introduced its smartphones in other countries except India and a few other Asian regions.

Snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM and fingerprint sensor?

Xiaomi Mi Note 2 is the company’s second flagship handset, which should go official in the second half of the year. Aside from the dual-curved edge display, the Mi Note 2 is also expected to pack a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor inside.

There’s a high chance that Xiaomi will maintain the same display size: 5-7-inch. We just hope that large screen will feature Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution.

Furthermore, the device should pack 4GB of RAM, fingerprint sensor, and 4G LTE support. The rest of the Mi Note 2’s specs are still a mystery at the moment.

Xiaomi is not the only Chinese company to adopt the curved-edge display technology. Vivo, another OEM headquartered in China, announced its flagship smartphone, the Xplay 5. The smartphone packs a dual-curved edge display, just like the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge flagships.

Other Chinese companies like Huawei and Lenovo might introduce curved-edge displays inside their smartphones, so we’re just waiting for their announcements.
