After some leaks and much speculation, Xiaomi Mi 6 finally has an official unveil date, and it’s not today, as some have previously thought. An official poster from Xiaomi reveals that the upcoming Mi 6 will be announced next week, on April 19.

There’s much to be said about the upcoming Xiaomi smartphone. First of all, it packs very powerful components, as previous reports revealed. Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 85 platform will run on both the Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus, while RAM capacity and internal storage will differ on the many variants to be announced.

The Mi 6 will feature a 5.1-inch display with Full HD resolution, making it quite comfortable to hold, while the Mi 6 Plus is the larger variant with a screen size of 5.7 inches and the same resolution. The leaked specsheet points towards a 19MP Sony IMX400 sensor on the Mi 6 and a dual-camera setup with 12MP Sony IMX362 sensors on the back of the Mi 6 Plus. In the front, both variants will have 8MP ultrapixel cameras for snapping selfies or conducting video calls.

Pricing info for the Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus is out

Moving on to battery capacity, the Mi 6 Plus will draw power from a 4,500mAh non-removable battery, while the standard model will have to make do with a 3,200mAh battery. Android 7.0 Nougat with MIUI 8 will supposedly run on both smartphones.

Pricing information for the new smartphones also leaked and, as we expected, the Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus is quite affordable for the specs that it incorporates. The Mi 6 will be offered in two options, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage for $318, and another model with the same RAM capacity but 128GB of memory for about $376.

Prices for Mi 6 Plus variants are much higher than for the standard model, reaching $390 for the 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage option, $448 for the same RAM capacity and 128GB of storage, and $535 for the higher-end model with 256GB of memory.
