Xiaomi is working on the upcoming Mi 6 smartphone, which should be announced next month. The phone was spotted on AnTuTu benchmark site and some live images have already surfaced online. The latest report shows that Xiaomi might release three variants of the Mi 6.

According to a post on Weibo (via GizChina), Xiaomi Mi 6 will arrive in three different versions. The first will be equipped with Helio X30 SoC and carry a price tag of about $290. The second model will run the latest chipset from Qualcomm, Snapdragon 835, which was recently showcased at CES 2017. Qualcomm actually announced the new chipset last year and offered further details about the new technology during the Consumer Electronics Show held this month.

It will cost about $360, while the third device will have the same Qualcomm SoC and carry a price tag of $434. The difference between the second and third variant, will be the latter’s dual-edge curved display, similar to that of Samsung’s Galaxy S7 edge or the upcoming Galaxy S8, said to be featured in two versions with the same display design.

Xiaomi Mi 6 might be announced during MWC

Qualcomm’s almighty Snapdragon 835 SoC is said to power many flagship smartphones this year, especially since the latest chipset offers reduced battery consumption, improved processing power and has a smaller size which allows for phones to be thinner.

The report is quite surprising considering that previous rumors have said that the SD835 might not be featured on the Xiaomi Mi 6, since it might not be completed on time. The new Snapdragon 835 SoC comes with Qualcomm’s new Quick Charge 4 technology and eight 240 cores.

Nonetheless, the smartphone is expected to be announced at MWC 2017 in Barcelona, a major tech event which is set to start on February 27 and end on March 2, 2017.
