The Xbox Wireless Controller Adapter has been released by Microsoft, and it should now be available for purchase.

Unlike the previous generation of Xbox controllers, which were somewhat different for the PC and consoles, the new version works the same on Xbox One and Windows. Microsoft didn't want to double the effort, and the Xbox One controller worked right from the start for Windows gamers and that was a good thing, but only with a USB cable.

A wireless adapter for Windows was required, and Microsoft announced back in June that it took them a while to get them into the store, but the new adapters are now available for purchase. They are actually quite cheap, and at $24.99 (€22) it's a steal. It might sound like too much, but there is more to this piece of technology than meets the eye.

Xbox Wireless Adapter connects multiple controllers

One of the coolest features of the new adapter is that you can connect up to eight controllers to it, and provides in-game chat and high-quality stereo audio. As you can imagine, this only works with Windows 10.

"With the Xbox Wireless Adapter, experience the advanced precision and comfort of your Xbox Wireless Controller on Windows 10 PCs, laptops, and tablets. Use it with PC games, and Xbox One games streamed to Windows 10, to elevate your game wherever you want to play," is noted on the official Microsoft website.

The Windows 10 functionality will become even more important when Windows 10 users will be able to stream games from the Xbox One so that these controllers will come in handy. There is also a bundle version available, with a controller and adapter in the same package that costs $79.95 (€70). Expect to see them in other stores like Amazon very soon.
