Fox is itching to drum up hype around its January 2016 “X-Files” revival series, but at the same time, it doesn’t want to give away all the good stuff so early on in the game. A teaser for the series has been released, and while it reveals nothing of the plot, it should serve to get longtime fans even more excited about it.

First of all, the footage included in the brief video hints at some kind of military conspiracy that will also target Mulder and Scully and their old cases. Someone even dares to trample on the iconic “I want to believe” poster fans of the original series know too well.

We get glimpses of Mulder and Scully with their guns and flashlights out, searching through some dark room, and we get, of course, the famous theme song.

For the time being, this should be enough teasing to last until Fox releases a full trailer and / or more details about the next adventure of the famous FBI agents.

“X-Files” is coming back for a limited number of episodes (at first, at least), with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson reprising their roles. Fans will also see a familiar face in Mitch Pileggi (Skinner) and William B. Davis (Cigarette Smoking Man), with new additions in Joel McHale and Annet Mehendru.

Chris Carter, the creator of the original series, is back as executive producer.
