The Windows 10 ARM-compatible title list is growing

The number of developers joining the ARM bandwagon is growing, with Blizzard announcing this week that World of Warcraft: Shadowlands can now run on Windows 10 ARM as well.

Microsoft is betting big on Windows 10 ARM in the long term, especially now that Apple has come up with Apple Silicon in an attempt to provide customers with increased performance and longer battery life.

Windows 10 ARM, on the other hand, isn’t necessarily getting so much traction, though developers are slowly joining the platform as more devices running it get to see the daylight.

Blizzard says it conducted extensive testing of World of Warcraft on Windows 10 ARM, and while everything was working properly, don’t be too surprised if you come across small glitches.

“While our internal testing has been successful, we’re looking for any unexpected issues that might be out there, so please test the latest Chains of Domination PTR build on your Windows 10 ARM64 devices and let us know if you run into any issues here in this forum thread. In particular, we expect the performance of the game to be relative to the specifications of the device, so please feel free to tell us about your specs and how WoW performs for you,” the company says.

Still no Linux support

In case you’re wondering who wants to play World of Warcraft on Windows 10 ARM, just think that Surface Pro X is a device powered by this platform, and in the long term, there’s a chance more such products hit the shelves.

While the good news is that World of Warcraft is now running natively on Windows 10 ARM, the game still doesn’t support Linux, though there are ways to launch the game here too. However, without native support, Linux users wouldn’t receive the same gaming experience, so it remains to be seen if Blizzard is planning an update in this regard as well or not.
