Blizzard is killing it this year with no less than two new major games announced and a couple of interesting expansions for World of Warcraft and Hearthstone. After bringing back millions of fans with the release of World of Warcraft Classic, Blizzard announced a brand new chapter in the Azerothian saga – Shadowlands.

For the first time in the history of the game, players will be taken to the real-between-realms, also known as the underworld. But it's all bad, as we'll get to meet long lost heroes like Uther the Lightbringer, Bolgar Foldragon and Kael’thas Sunstrider.

Five new areas will be available for exploration – Bastion, Maldraxxus, Ardenweald, Revendreth, and The Maw. Four of the areas will be the base for so-called covenants with which players an ally to earn specific rewards, including a full set of armor. Kyrian of Bastion, Night Fae of Ardenweald, Venthyr Revendreth and Necrolords of Maldraxxus are the four covenants that players will be able to choose from.

Tower of the Damned is another unique location for World of Warcraft. Unlike any of the previous dungeons in the game, this one offers high replayability since it's inspired by roguelike games. Those who manage to reach the top of the tower will be able to reap the legendary rewards and help free heroic spirits trapped within.

More importantly, Shadowlands introduces a new leveling system, as current max-level characters will begin the new expansion at level 50, while the new level cap will be 60. Blizzard also announced that Shadowlands will bring improved character customization options, such as new appearances for all races, which will be made available to players when they create new World of Warcraft characters or change the looks of the existing ones at the barber shop.

Last but not least, with Shadowlands, Pandaren and all allied races will be able to become Death Knights. World of Warcraft: Shadowlands will be released next year, but the expansion is already available for pre-purchase in three variants – Base Edition, Heroic Edition, and Epic Edition. A physical Collector's Edition of the game will be revealed at a later date.
