Addresses a regression introduced in Wine 1.8.5 and 35 bugs

Today, December 19, 2016, a new stable release of the Wine 1.8 free, open-source and cross-platform implementation of Windows on Unix arrived for GNU/Linux and macOS platforms, versioned 1.8.6.

Wine 1.8.6 is here more than two months after the previous maintenance update, namely Wine 1.8.5, and only three days after the second Release Candidate (RC) build of the upcoming Wine 2.0 major stable series. As expected, Wine 1.8.6 is a bugfix release that addresses a regression introduced in Wine 1.8.5 and fixes 35 recorded bugs.

It also adds a few more graphics cards to the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) description table, among which we can mention Nvidia GeForce GTX 690, AMD Radeon RX 480, and AMD Radeon HD 6480G, which was previously detected as ATI Radeon 3200.

As expected, there's a large list of Windows apps and games that should work better with Wine on your favorite GNU/Linux distribution or Mac computer. Among these, we can mention ComboFix, ElsterFormular, Smart Cutter 1.9.4, Anthem Room Correction 2 1.0.1, ProtectDisc Driver 11, Microsoft Expression Web 4, and Kingsoft Office 2012.

Ellisys Visual USB, Hornbill Supportworks Client 7.6.0, Xenia, Microsoft Word 2010, S3CC921 Programmer, and the Epic Games Launcher were improved as well, and Wine 1.8.6 also promises to offer users better support for the World of Warcraft game when coming from the Battle.net launcher.

Additionally, Wine 1.8.6 improves support for the Age of Empires, The Forest: Terminal, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Starcraft 2, Age of Mythology: Extended Edition, Zombie Army Trilogy, Final Fantasy XI, Max Payne 2 Demo, and various UE4 games.
