Concept imagines the future of Windows 10

Microsoft is gradually polishing Windows 10, and every new feature update is supposed to bring further improvements based on user feedback (or, at least, that’s what the software giant claims anyway).

This Windows 20 concept, however, proposes a more significant overhaul for the operating system, including changes that have been required by users for a long time already.

The taskbar, for example, could get centered icons, something that can already be achieved with third-party software on Windows 10 and which Microsoft should definitely offer at OS level.

Of course, this could make Windows 10 look and feel more like macOS, but given this is one of the top feature requests for the operating system, the software giant should at least explore the available options to make the whole thing happen in one way or another.

Live tiles overhaul

The live tiles are also getting a refresh in the Start menu, with additional options displayed on mouse hover. As a matter of fact, people familiar with the matter said the live tiles could go away at some point in the future as only a few users still stick with them in the Start menu.

As a result, Microsoft could very well go for a more static approach similar to the one used in Windows 10X, but this of course is something that would only happen in the long term if Microsoft makes this decision.

All in all, the concept proposes several interesting ideas, and as I said in the case of other similar projects, Microsoft would really do itself a favor to check it out. It doesn’t necessarily mean that Microsoft should make the entire concept happen, but at least it’s a visual interpretation of what users expect from the world of Windows 10 in the first place.
