Microsoft believed to be working on new OS called Windows 12

While at one point Microsoft was believed to stick with the generic “Windows” name for its desktop operating system, it now looks like the software giant is going back to dedicated versions for each release.

After Windows 10, Windows 11 is the company’s big bet in the long term, especially as the new OS comes with updated requirements and therefore leaves behind quite a lot of devices.

However, people familiar with the matter previously said that Microsoft just wouldn’t stop here. Windows 12 is also coming, and it could go live at some point in 2024.

While Microsoft itself has remained tight-lipped on everything related to Windows 12, concept designs out there just do what they know best, and this is envisioning how the new operating system could end up looking.

That’s precisely the role of a Windows 12 concept published on YouTube by Cesar B. Arts and which looks absolutely impressive. With Fluent design pushed to a completely new level, this Windows 12 concept makes the operating system overall look a lot more modern almost in every single area that matter to the end user.

“The all-new Windows 12 includes a consistent interface with fluent design, empowering your productivity and efficiency every moment. With Gaming Center, connect your PC with your friends, share your game status, conquests and sync with Xbox Game Pass and EA Play. The new Windows also comes with a stunning lockscreen, that you can unlock using only your Android, and pin the widgets you love. Now, the Windows Explorer brings a new experience with its tips, suggestions and tab groups, making your day more productive and time saver,” the designer explains in the description of the concept.

Keep in mind, however, that this is just a concept for now and there is absolutely no guarantee that this is the way the upcoming operating system is going to look.
