Microsoft is expected to start the rollout of Windows 11 version 22H2 any day now, as the official download links for the ISO images have recently been spotted online.

As XenoThePanther posted here on reddit, the download links for various ISO images are ready to go live, and they will be offered as alternative download options to users who don’t want to wait for the Windows 11 version 22H2 update to show up on Windows Update.

People familiar with the matter previously said that Windows 11 version 22H2 could launch on September 20, but the date has never been confirmed by Microsoft.

However, given the download links have already been prepared, it’s now believed that the release of Windows 11 version 22H2 is now imminent, with an announcement in this regard to be published later this week.

Windows 11 version 22H2

It goes without saying that Windows 11 version 22H2 is going to be a massive update, as it will include lots of new features and improvements for the core operating system.

Microsoft confirmed earlier this year that Windows 11 build 22621 is the RTM build for version 22H2, so in theory, this is the one that production devices are projected to receive.

In the meantime, the software giant has obviously remained completely tight-lipped on the whole thing, but all signs seem to suggest that Windows 11 version 22H2 is just around the corner.

As always, the software giant will use a phased rollout, which means that not all users are going to get the new version of the operating system at the same time. This approach gives Microsoft more control over the rollout and identify bugs in an early stage. Whenever this happens, the company can suspend the rollout for certain hardware with upgrade blocks, therefore limiting the damage a glitch can cause.
