Microsoft has started the rollout of Windows 11 Moment 2, a new update that brings a long list of new features and improvements under the same roof.

Moment 2 sports enhancements in all key areas of Windows 11, and Task Manager is one of the components getting an overhaul as well.

Task Manager continues to be a very popular application among power users, and this is the reason Microsoft has focused a lot on improving the experience with it lately.

What’s new for Task Manager in Moment 2

As such, Moment 2 includes several important refinements, including the addition of a filtering option.

Beginning with this update, users can filter processes with the binary name, the PID, or the publisher’s name. The filters are saved when you jumped from one page to another, and you can also access them by pressing ALT + E on the keyboard.

Then, Task Manager is also getting new theme options. The application is already featuring a black mode, but with this update, Microsoft is adding support for more options, including configuring Task Manager to use a different visual style than the operating system.

“You can now choose a theme for Task Manager that is different from the Windows theme. Also, all dialogs, except for Run new task and the Properties dialog, now support themes. The dialogs will use app-specific themes or the Windows theme,” Microsoft explains.

And last but not least, the Efficiency mode is getting an update too, with Microsoft explaining that users can opt out of confirmation dialogs when this mode is enabled.

Moment 2 is currently available only for seekers who are running Windows 11 version 22H2. The global availability should be reached next month when Microsoft starts shipping it as an automatic update part of the Patch Tuesday rollout.
