Microsoft is expected to push the go-ahead button for Windows 10 May 2020 Update, or version 2004, any day now, and by the looks of things, it has all become a matter of hours as the company just published the release information page for this new release.

Windows version 2004 has silently been added to Microsoft’s update dashboard page, which means the company is now ready to publish the very first details regarding the release, the found and resolved issues, and anything related to updates after the rollout starts.

As discovered recently, however, the pages are still empty, so everyone at Microsoft seems to be waiting for the company to publish the update.

Today or tomorrow

Windows 10 May 2020 Update is expected to go live today or tomorrow, according to information that surfaced in the last few weeks.

Just like the previous feature updates, it will go live in stages to users across the world, as Microsoft wants to be sure that everything is going as smoothly as possible. If any issues are discovered in the early stages of the rollout, the company can then halt the release for specific configurations that could also be impacted.

At the same time, Microsoft will also publish Windows 10 May 2020 Update ISO images for those who want to perform a clean-install and start from scratch, while the Media Creation Tool will be offered as an alternative method to download the update and create bootable installation media.

The Windows 10 May 2020 Update ISO images are already available for download on MSDN and should go live for everyone on Microsoft’s website once the rollout to production devices starts.

Judging from the previous feature updates, the rollout of Windows 10 May 2020 Update should take at least a few months until it reaches broad availability.
