New build released today for fast ring insiders

This is quite a busy week for Microsoft fans across the world, as the company has just rolled out a new Windows 10 Redstone 2 build just one day before its Windows 10 even brought us the new Surface All-in-One PC.

Windows 10 Redstone 2 build 14955 comes with improvements for fast ring insiders on PC and mobile, and includes the Mail app updates that we’ve told you about earlier today. You can thus interact with mail notifications from your desktop, from the Action Center, and create new emails in their dedicated windows.

Additionally, Microsoft has also introduced what it calls context awareness in Narrator that works as follows:

“As you navigate around, you can be notified about different groups or other areas you move to, such as groups in the Office ribbon. To configure the amount of context you hear, cycle through options with ALT + Caps Lock + /. To change whether the context is read before the item with focus or after, use CTRL + Caps Lock + /. To check the context at any point. Press Caps Lock + D twice.”

No new features for mobile phones

There is no notable new feature for mobile devices, but there are plenty of improvements and bug fixes, and you can check them out in the box after the jump.

Microsoft says that users who have already installed Windows 10 Mobile build 14951 should be able to install this new one successfully. Those who were stuck with the 0 percent bug should follow some instructions that you can find in the changelog below.

As you can see, this build doesn’t bring too many substantial changes as compared to its predecessors, so it’s mostly supposed to correct bugs and improve performance, but it’s still worth a try if you’re part of the Windows Insider program.

A new build is expected to see daylight next week, so this is all for now, as all eyes are now on the event that Microsoft will be holding tomorrow in New York.
