You can now search for similar photos on Bing

Microsoft is working hard on improving the native Photos app in Windows 10, so new improvements ship regularly, first for insiders, and then for public users too.

The latest version of the Photos app for users not enrolled in the Windows Insider program, for example, brings a helpful new feature that lets you search for similar images on Bing.

Microsoft implementing Bing in the Photos app is no surprise, as the search engine is already part of the Windows search experience. And at some level, using the power of Bing search within Photo is something that makes sense, especially because this feature can come in very handy for many users.

As per WBI, the new feature lets you right-click an image in your local library and then “Search for similar images on Bing,” which should help you find similar pictures online right from Photos.

Updated Photos app now available in the Store

Additionally, there are new animated text styles in the update to version 2019.19031.17720.0, as well as a fresh tool in the video editor that lets users duplicate a project.

You can download this new version of the Photos app by heading over to the Microsoft Store and checking for updates, if this build isn’t yet installed on your device. To check out the Photos app version, head over to Settings and scroll down to the bottom of the UI.

But while more and more improvements land for the Photos app, one of the biggest setbacks is still there.

The Photos app occasionally eats up an insane amount of memory on Windows 10 devices, something that a growing number of users seem to discover. Microsoft has already delivered some updates to correct this behavior, but the bug still exists in the latest version of the app for both insiders and production devices.
