Some users still unable to install the November Update

Microsoft rolled out Windows 10 November Update as the first big update for the core Windows 10 released in July 2015 and recommended all users to install it as soon as possible.

But for a number of Windows 10 users, no matter how hard they try to install this update, it’s quite impossible to do it due to a bug that freezes the process at 44 percent (or at different percentage levels).

Stuck at different moments during install

Soon after Microsoft started shipping the Windows 10 November Update, users began reporting problems with this version, with a number of adopters explaining that the install process gets stuck without any clear reason.

Hoping that it might restart at some point, some have even let the installer up to 24 hours with the same percentage on screen, but they eventually ended up force-rebooting the computer to get back to the previous Windows desktop.

“Once it stops, I have to shut down. On restart I am told that it will revert back to Windows 7 BUT it does not revert. I get a black screen telling me that windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software caused the problem. Status 0xc000000e. Needless to say there has been no recent changes made. I have tried many of the suggestions I have read online, without any solution,” one user explains.

Although the issue was first reported in November, some users are still seeing it today and Microsoft is yet to provide a workaround for those who really want to update to the new 1511 version.

Few of those who experienced this problem decided to perform a clean install with the November update, as this particular version has become the new default for all users installing from scratch or upgrading from Windows 7 and 8.1.

But this is obviously a painful workaround if you don’t want to lose files and apps, so everyone’s hoping to see Microsoft providing a solution that could allow them to install the update.
