While all eyes are currently on Windows 11, Microsoft is also giving the finishing touches to Windows 10 November 2021 Update, the next feature update for Windows 10.

As you probably know already, Windows 11 comes with updated system requirements that make the upgrade available only for certain eligible devices, which means other PCs have no other option than to stick with Windows 10 for a little longer.

Windows 10 will continue to receive support until October 2025, with Microsoft now giving the finishing touches to a new feature update to go live in the fall.

Codenamed Windows 10 November 2021 Update, this new release doesn’t necessarily bring major new features, though it does include refinements and improvements that you must absolutely have on your device.

And the good news is the release of this November 2021 Update is just around the corner, with Microsoft explaining that build 19044.1288 is very likely to be the final one that will be offered to production devices as well.

Now available for seekers

As a result, this build is available for seekers in the Release Preview channel starting today.

“We are now offering the Windows 10 November 2021 Update to all Windows Insiders in the Release Preview Channel on Windows 10 via our “seeker” experience in Windows Update,” Microsoft explains.

“This means Insiders currently on Windows 10, version 21H1 (or lower) in the Release Preview Channel will need to go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and choose to download and install Windows 10, version 21H2. Once an Insider updates their PC to Windows 10, version 21H2, they will continue to automatically receive new servicing updates through Windows Update (the typical monthly update process).”

At this point, there’s still no ETA as to when the rollout to production devices is scheduled to begin.
