HP Elite X3 becomes the most exciting Windows phone to date

The HP Elite X3 turns out to be the most exciting Windows 10 Mobile phone to date, as it comes with high-end hardware specifications, but also with features that haven’t been available in the Windows lineup so far.

For example, the Elite X3 will come with passive stylus support, as HP is also planning to offer some accessories to boost the productivity side of the device.

As MSPU notes, the stylus is supposed to allow owners “to write naturally on the screen and navigate touchscreen activities,” and according to HP’s website, it will play a double role. First of all, it’ll be a classic stylus with a 2mm foam tip that makes it easy to draw and write on the screen, while the rounded tip at the other end can be used as input method when holding it in hand.

Never let the stylus down

Basically, you don’t have to let the stylus down if you no longer need to draw or write on the screen, so it can be used to simulate a tap with the finger.

Since Microsoft is already offering apps that take advantage of pen support, including OneNote and Fresh Paint, there’s no doubt that HP is making the right call by offering a stylus on its Elite X3, especially because the market for such devices is growing - Samsung will soon launch the Galaxy Note 7, also sporting a stylus.

At the same time, it appears that HP’s new Windows 10 Mobile phone will come in a gold version too, so customers can go for this premium look if they want a device that stands out from the crowd.

There is no release date available at the moment, but HP is expected to launch the Elite X3 in the summer, shortly after Microsoft introduces the Windows 10 Anniversary Update for PC and mobile. Pricing will be revealed at that time, but don’t expect the device to be affordable by any means.
