This build is now available for slow ring users too

Microsoft has just released Windows 10 Mobile build 10586, which is believed to be the RTM version of the operating system, to users enrolled in the Windows Insider program and subscribed to the slow ring.

Builds are pushed to the slow channel only when they are stable and reliable enough to be used by those who do not want to waste too much time dealing with major bugs, so it appears that Windows 10 Mobile RTM is now very close to getting the go-ahead for all users.

The new build 10586 doesn't bring too many changes in terms of new features, but it certainly impresses as far as performance is concerned, as Microsoft fixed the majority of bugs that existed in the previous releases.

Public launch in just a couple of weeks

While Windows 10 Mobile now seems ready for prime time, the public release won't take place sooner than early December, sources familiar with Microsoft's plans have said.

Basically, Microsoft first wants to launch its new Lumia 950 and 950 XL models in markets across the globe and only then make the final bits of the operating system available for everyone.

The release of Windows 10 Mobile will happen in stages, so only some Windows Phone models will actually get it next month. Information that has lately reached the web via unofficial channels has indicated that a second wave of the rollout is projected to start in February 2016, but Microsoft is yet to confirm it.

On the other hand, the company has already said that insiders would be the first to get the final build of Windows 10 Mobile, so the chances are that 10586 is the one. In the meantime, Microsoft still awaits for feedback from slow ring users, and if everything goes as planned, expect a public launch to take place in just a few weeks.
