The rollout will officially begin on December 14

Microsoft has already confirmed on its social media accounts that the Windows 10 Mobile rollout is projected to start in December, but until now no specific dates have been available.

But thanks to a document leak that took place via Orange Poland, we finally have a look at the update schedule for the existing Lumia devices, which will all get Windows 10 Mobile at no cost.

Before anything, keep in mind that this document comes from Orange Poland, so the schedule you’ll find below might only concern phones sold in the country. We’ve reached out to some sources at Microsoft to ask whether the same is valid for the rest of the markets, but we’re yet to receive a confirmation.

First phones to get the update on December 14

Posted by WPWorld.pl (via WMPU), the upgrade to Windows 10 Mobile will take place in two separate waves, first of which will start on December 14. Models such as Lumia 630, 635, 640, 735, and 830 will all get the new operating system as part of this initial rollout.

The second wave, however, won’t happen this year, so owners of the models included here will have to wait until February 1, 2016, to get the new operating system. They include Lumia 520, 532, 625, 720, 820, 920, 925, 930, 1020, and 1320, which means that those who bought the flagship Lumia 930 won’t be part of the first rollout.

In case you’re wondering home come Lumia 1520 is missing from the list, it’s because Orange Poland has never sold the device on the local market, so there’s no official timing when it’s projected to get the update.

On the other hand, the best way to experience the new Windows 10 Mobile operating system is to purchase either a Lumia 950 or a 950 XL, both of which are expected to hit the shelves later this month in several markets. Both will come with the new OS and will exclusively offer support for Windows Hello and Continuum, the two new breaking features announced with much fanfare by Microsoft earlier this year.
