Many Windows Insiders expected a new Windows 10 Mobile build last week, but Microsoft announced it needed more days to work on the next version of the mobile platform.

Microsoft has recently put a spotlight on its dedicated Windows 10 Mobile website, which suggests that we should prepare for the official launch of the operating system.

The last preview version of Windows 10 Mobile, build 10581, was released to Windows Insiders more than two weeks ago.

According to the latest rumors, the next build should also be the release candidate, which is probably one of the reasons it takes longer for Microsoft to make it available to Windows Insiders.

As mentioned in out previous articles, Microsoft planned to launch build 10586 last week, but due to the new Windows 10 Threshold 2 update being released at the same time, the mobile build was delayed.

No new major features expected in the upcoming build

Since Microsoft's Gabe Aul announced that the company's engineers needed a few more days to work on the next build, we assume there were quite a few bugs that had to be squashed.

Now, Polish blog MsMobile reports that the next Windows 10 Mobile preview version could be build 10586.11, which is not far away from the build that should have been released last week.

The new build is already being tested in Microsoft's internal rings and should be pushed to Windows Insiders in the next few days.

An exact release date will probably be provided by Gabe Aul soon, but what's important to know is whether or not this will be the release candidate version.

Also, we don't expect Microsoft to include any new major features in this build. Instead, there will be many bug fixes and small improvements. Stay tuned for more updates on the next Windows 10 Mobile release.
