14 DAY TRIAL // Microsoft has just released Windows 10 Mobile build 10512 for users enrolled in the fast ring of the Windows Insider program, thus giving some the chance to try out the latest improvements it has made to the smartphone operating system.
Gabriel Aul, head of the Windows Insider program, has announced the build this morning and explained that the Windows team was very focused on getting the PC ready for launch and that's why it took more than a month to release another build for mobile devices.
“The team was very focused on our Windows 10 release for PCs and tablets, and we needed to do some prep work for Mobile to move to a new branch. I expect the builds to be out more frequently again as we go forward from here. Our major focus on Windows 10 Mobile right now is on improvements to core quality,” Aul goes on to say.
What's new in this build?
According to Microsoft's very own change log, which you can find in full in the box below, the new Windows 10 Mobile build comes with bug fixes and feature improvement, but no major change or application.
For instance, it does include general improvements in stability and performance, enhanced Latvian and Chinese inputs, touch screen and Camera enhancements, tweaks for the lock screen, and bug fixes addressing notifications for text messages.
There are also several known bugs in this release, and Microsoft says that you should read them all before installing to know what to expect.
For instance, mobile hotspot doesn't work at all in this build. Microsoft explains.
“When sharing the Internet from your phone using Mobile Hotspot, devices will fail to get a valid IP address from your phone and will show no internet access,” the company goes on to detail.

Keep in mind that this build is only available to users enrolled in the fast ring and there's no mention yet of whether it could be released to the slow channel as well.
