Quick customizations make Windows 10 look like Arc

If you like the minimalistic look of Linux but don’t want to give up on Windows 10, you should know there are many ways to tweak your desktop and make it as simple as possible.

And reddit user o-d-i-m has managed to do just that, bringing the Arc Linux look on a Windows 10 PC with just a custom theme that anyone can download right now without paying a single cent.

If you’re wondering why this is blog-worthy, it’s mostly because Windows users have always been interested in desktop customizations and we’re hearing from our readers that the current look of Windows isn’t exactly a huge change versus the previous versions of the operating system.

In other words, Windows 10 Creators Update looks very similar to its predecessors, with a few exceptions of course, and first-party options to substantially customize the interface aren’t yet available.

Third-party themes

In this context, third-party customization software comes in super-handy, and this is the case of the theme we’re telling you about and which can make your desktop look as minimalistic as the one in Linux.

What’s also important to know, however, is that patching system files is mandatory before installing third-party themes, and this is why we also recommend everyone to create a system backup before anything else. This helps you make sure that in case something goes wrong and the system modifications you make break down the operating system, you can always return to the previous configuration with little effort.

To do this, you must use UltraUXThemePatcher, which provides a very simple interface and works correctly on Windows 10 Creators Update too (there are several similar tools out there, but some do not yet support Windows 10 version 1703).

Third-party themes basically open the door to a whole new world of customizations and it’s only up to your imagination to tweak the look of your desktop, so you don’t necessarily have to jump to Linux just because you don’t like the UI of Windows.
