Microsoft’s newest Windows 10 version is the Creators Update, and although more and more users rush to install it, there are also plenty of systems that are yet to be updated and still running the Anniversary Update.

Since it’s still a supported version, today’s Patch Tuesday rollout also brought a cumulative update for devices running Windows 10 Anniversary Update, and with this release, the OS version is pushed to 14393.1358.

Additionally, there are also lots of improvements, and you can check out the box at the end of the article for the full changelog.

Biggest changes

One of the most important changes concerns a bug that Windows 10 Anniversary Update users were experiencing after installing a previous cumulative update.

“Addressed issue where, after installing KB3164035, users cannot print enhanced metafiles (EMF) or documents containing bitmaps rendered out of bounds using the BitMapSection(DIBSection) function,” Microsoft says in the release notes.

Additionally, Microsoft has fixed a bug in Internet Explorer causing the browser to crash when the Microsoft Active Accessibility application is running in the background. In case some of your devices crashed when plugging USB 3.0 Network Adapters, there’s a fix for you too, together with a patch for the problem that caused certutil.exe to no longer generate an EPF file when attempting to recover a key for a version 1 style certificate.

It goes without saying that users should install this cumulative update as soon as possible, especially because it lands on a Patch Tuesday and it brings so many changes.

What’s important to know is that KB4022715 is installing correctly until now, though it usually takes a few hours for bugs to show up and for people to report them online. We’ll be keeping an eye on any problem that might arise and update this article to let you know if anything goes wrong, though Microsoft has spent substantially more time on getting cumulative updates right in the last few releases.
