The so-called Windows 10 Creators Update Bloatware Free Edition launched a few weeks ago to provide users with a cleaner experience when installing the new version of Microsoft’s operating system, and fortunately for users who liked it, the project is very well maintained and getting updates regularly.

Today, version 4.1 was published online, bringing a bunch of improvements that could really come in handy when installing this lightweight version of the Windows 10 Creators Update, including the latest updates that Microsoft shipped with the May Patch Tuesday.

Specifically, the Bloatware Free Edition of the Windows 10 Creators Update integrates the latest Windows 10 cumulative updates released on May 9, thus pushing OS version to 15063.296 and patching several critical security vulnerabilities in the operating system.

As we reported earlier today, this month’s Patch Tuesday included fixes for several major zero-days that were actively exploited in the wild, with Microsoft and security vendors warning that multiple hacking groups, some of which have been linked to the Russian government, launched attacks since mid-March.

This means that, for users who want to install the Creators Update using this custom version, this new update certainly comes in handy, as it adds a new protection layer against exploits.

Bye-bye, Paint 3D

Additionally, version 4.1 also introduces a new option that’s specifically targeting the new Paint 3D app that Microsoft released with the Creators Update. Starting with this version, there is no context menu option for the Paint 3D app, so no other scripts or tweaks need to be applied in this regard.

In the end, it’s worth reminding that this is an unofficial version of Windows 10 that Microsoft itself does not support. It’s essentially a lighter version of Windows 10 that lacks many of the pre-installed apps and features, including Edge and Windows Defender.

It goes without saying that you’re using it at your own risk, but if you’re OK with that, you can go ahead and download the Windows 10 Creators Update Bloatware Free Edition right now from Softpedia.
