The new version comes without Windows Defender

Windows 10 Creators Update Bloatware Free Edition has received another update today, as version 5.5 is available for download with more tweaks and removed apps from the original system image.

Specifically, version 5.5 removes Windows Defender, the default antivirus that’s offered with the operating system and which Microsoft praises on every occasion. Statistics, however, have shown that Windows Defender isn’t really the most advanced antivirus on the market right now, though it’s important to note that without it, a Windows 10 system is fully exposed to malware.

At the same time, this new OS image also comes without the majority of pre-installed apps except Sticky Notes, Calculator, and Xbox, with the last one needed to keep Game Mode available. There are also some feature tweaks, and you’re not getting the home group or geolocation services.

Additionally, in this version there are no Windows updates or .NET Framework 3.5 in order to keep the ISO image as lightweight as possible and to avoid any potential errors that might be experienced.

Not an official release

While at first glance having a lite version of Windows 10 Creators Update is very useful, it’s important to note that this is an unofficial release and it’s not coming from Microsoft.

The ISO was created with modifications applied to the original Windows 10 image, so it’s up to you to decide whether to install it or not. Microsoft doesn’t provide any type of support for users who install it and come across bugs, and the company typically recommends against using such modified versions of its operating system.

On the other hand, plenty of users have already installed it with no major bugs whatsoever, so you can try it out at your own risk to see what it is all about. You can download the Windows 10 Creators Update Bloatware Free Edition right here and keep an eye on the same page for more updates and improvements coming in the next few weeks.
