Some users, including us, experience app install problems

There are many people out there claiming that Windows 10 is far from being a polished operating system, and unfortunately, the plethora of errors that are discovered every day somehow stands as living proof for this criticism.

You might already be familiar with the store issues that some early Windows 10 adopters are experiencing. The first time we wrote about them was last week, but it appears that these problems aren't only yet to be fixed but they're also spreading.

More users have confirmed the problems for us in the last couple of days, and starting today, some can no longer install new apps. We're having the exact same issue on some of our computers here at Softpedia and there's no way to fix it for the moment.

When attempting to download a new app from the Windows Store, we get an error reading “Try the download again. Something happened on our end.” Obviously, pressing the download button again makes no difference, so it's clearly a big problem on Microsoft's side.

Fix coming soon

Microsoft has already confirmed the first issues we reported with the Windows Store, but the company has promised to release a fix in the near future.

We're already running the latest version of the Windows Store, and an update was received a few days ago, but surprisingly, no fix has been delivered with this update. And if a fix was indeed included, it turns out that it was ineffective. Otherwise, there's no clear reason for the issue to still happen.

For the moment, there's no 100 percent effective workaround for this problem, and while we've seen a million fixes out there, nothing has worked so far in some cases.

Once again, we're waiting for more information (and another fix) from Microsoft, so we'll keep you updated on this to let you know when the store is supposed to start working normally.
