Microsoft has released a new Windows 10 19H1 preview build for Fast ring insiders, and the changelog includes several refinements for Windows Sandbox.

Windows 10 build 18353 is one of the last builds that are shipped for the 19H1 development branch, as Microsoft is projected to finalize this feature update in late March.

However, it brings several major improvements, including for Windows Sandbox, which is a key feature of the upcoming release.

First and foremost, Microsoft says that Windows Sandbox now comes with microphone support, and this means that accessibility will thus be possible as well. Additionally, users can now configure the audio input devices via the Windows Sandbox config file.

Beginning with this update, Windows Sandbox also comes with fewer bugs, as Microsoft has fixed an issue causing this virtual environment’s time zone not to be synced with the host.

You can check out the full changelog in the box after the jump for additional details on Sandbox refinements.

More issues to be fixed

Like every other build, there are also several known issues, and Microsoft says it’s still working on the anti-cheat software bug that’s causing some devices to hit a fatal crash. Previously, the company revealed that it was working with an unnamed third-party company to repair this problem, but it looks like this takes longer than anticipated.

There are also issues with Creative X-Fi sound cards and Realtek SD card readers, but further improvements should go live in the coming builds.

The RTM build of Windows 10 19H1 should be ready in the next couple of weeks, and insiders in the Fast ring will be the first to get it. The public rollout to production devices across the world is due to kick off in April and take place in stages, just like the previous feature updates.
