Microsoft has just shipped a new build for users enrolled in the Skip Ahead ring of the Windows Insider program.

While all eyes are on the RTM build of Windows 10 October 2018 Update, Microsoft has actually decided to roll out a preview build of the next feature update for its operating system.

Known as 19H1 because it’ll be released in the first half of 2019, the next Windows 10 update has reached build 18247 and is now available for download as part of the Skip Ahead ring.

Needless to say, there are no new features in this version, mostly because the full focus is now on getting the October 2018 Update ready for its public debut.

However, the build comes with several changes and improvements, and you can see the full changelog at the end of the article.

Not available for Czech users

Worth mentioning is an update for the Your Phone app that’s supposed to bring Android and iOS devices in sync with Windows 10 PCs.

“Rolling out this week, along with more bug fixes, we have added a “Preview” tag to Your Phone app as we continue to finetune the based on your feedback. Keep it coming via Feedback Hub,” Microsoft explains.

There are also several known issues, including one hitting the dark theme of the File Explorer and unexpectedly making the border white. Task Manager isn’t reporting accurate CPU usage, but Microsoft says that this problem should be fixed in the next build.

This build also comes with two important mentions. First, if you switch from Fast to Slow ring after installing this build, the developer mode may fail. And second, this build isn’t available for PCs running Windows 10 Home and Pro in Czech (cs-cz), but this may be just a temporary restriction.

You can download the new build from Windows Update right now, and look at the end of the article for the full release notes.
