Microsoft has just released a new Windows 10 build, this time exclusively for PCs, while a mobile version is expected to ship anytime in the next couple of days.

Windows 10 build 14342 is available for insiders in the fast ring and comes with several important improvements, including new Microsoft Edge extensions and a bunch of new features.

First of all, starting with this build Microsoft is making extensions available in the Windows Store, so you can quickly install them just like any other app. All your currently installed extensions will be removed when you update to the new build, but you can get them back from the store quickly. Microsoft says that it’s working to fix this in future builds, when they’ll be automatically re-downloaded and installed.

Microsoft Edge also supports real-time notifications, which are displayed in the Action Center. Web notifications show up on Windows 10 just like the typical toast notification sent from a PC and clicking on it gets you to the website that sent it.

Ubuntu Bash improvements

Swipe navigation gestures are also part of this build and Microsoft says that this is one of the features that will land on mobile devices as well.

Ubuntu Bash has received improvements too, including support for users with non-Latin Windows users, while the Skype universal app now comes with a dark theme and options to let you switch between different accounts. The same feature should arrive in Windows 10 Mobile in the coming builds.

The dark theme has become a priority for Microsoft, so this build brings it in the User Account Control dialog to, with the header color changed from yellow to blue too. The Action Center lets you dismiss notifications with a middle click, Microsoft says.

And last but not least, Microsoft has confirmed that it’ll soon let users associate apps with websites and this build comes with improvements in this regard. But for the moment, there are no apps supporting this feature, but as soon as they reach the store, you should be able to use them just fine.
