Microsoft has started the public rollout of Sticky Notes 3.0, the new version of the app that has been in beta testing for several months already.

The company previously rolled out version 3.0 to Windows insiders, but beginning today, users running Windows 10 April 2018 Update will get the update as well.

Systems updating to October 2018 Update, which will roll out next month, will also receive Sticky Notes 3.0, while those running an older version of the operating system need to install at least version 1803.

Reza Jooyandeh, Engineering Manager for Microsoft Sticky Notes Windows, announced the beginning of the rollout today on Twitter, explaining that customers across the world get it gradually. This means that not everyone may receive it at first, but eventually, everyone should be able to install the new Sticky Notes.

What’s new in Sticky Notes 3.0?

Sticky Notes 3.0 is a major update for the app, bringing several new features to Windows 10 devices, including support for Microsoft account to boast cloud syncing capabilities.

With this improvement, your notes can be synced across all your devices where you are logged in with the same Microsoft account.

Additionally, this new version of Sticky Notes also includes more formatting options, as well as new animations within the app, so the general experience with it should be improved as well. Last but not least, the app also boasts a dark theme, though it doesn’t cover the entire UI, but only the notes that you create.

To select the dark theme, you need to open the color options of each new note and manually select the black version. The content, however, becomes easier to read, especially during the night.

Sticky Notes 3.0 is available right now from the Microsoft Store and it runs on PC only.
