What's interesting is how easily mainstream press went straight on for TV screens, mobiles, big names and lots of pizzazz, and ignored the little more interesting things during IFA 2015.

And here's an example of little things that are great without having 4K resolutions, covering a whole wall of OLED pixels and costing a fortune. Welcome LG's MiniBeam PF1000U, a projector that uses a Short Distance Focus technique to project a large screen from a very short distance: 100 inches from a mere 38 centimeters and 60 inches from 11 centimeters.

What does this mean? It means no more extra space on your wall or your room being occupied by massive screens that effectively displace whole square meters of room area.

What it also means is that from now on you need just 38 cm in front of whatever area you decide to relinquish 100-inch screen in your living room or outdoors and watch your favorite shows. Via specially placed mirrors, the MiniBeam PF1000U projects a very good quality image in as small a place as possible.

Why should you waste space with a huge TV, when you could simply project your favorite show

The MiniBeam PF1000U Full-HD LED home theater wants to rethink the way we see TVs and home entertaining. It comes with a built-in receiver for cable and digital networks. It can directly access and project TV broadcasts along with video from YouTube, Netflix, Spotify being exactly what it should be, an alternative to TVs, minus the wasted space.

The home projector is the lightest and smallest Short Distance Focus projector in the world and can fit almost in every drawer available in our house. The device can play audio and video also via USB cable or home network, and it also can play media from your mobile devices.

Sound-wise, the MiniBeam PF1000U has its own speakers, but if you want to, you can connect any external speakers wirelessly via Bluetooth.

The screen features a full HD resolution and features brightness up to 1,000 lumens while the contrast ratio of 150,000:1 which keeps the picture quality the same even at the largest screen size.

LG claims that the projector's LED will work for about 30,000 hours lifespan, and according to Business Korea, interested customers could get it for €1,299 ($1,470) in October.
