While the majority of football players love and use iPhones, Liverpool FC’s Mohamed Salah will stick with the Chinese-made OPPO, as the right winger has just become the company’s brand ambassador for the Middle East and Africa.

Salah will first show up in public as an OPPO brand ambassador on March 14 when the company will launch the Reno3 Series, a phone which is described as a “photography-focused device” thanks to a 64-megapixel ultra-clear main camera on the Pro model.

Needless to say, the Chinese phone maker praises the collaboration with Mohamed Salah, explaining in a typical press release statement that the OPPO and the Liverpool FC star have a lot in common.

“Mohamed Salah is the perfect person to represent OPPO, as both he and our brand are known for breaking new boundaries in our respective fields, for striving to achieve perfection in everything we do. We recognize Mohamed’s immense professional skills and find it comparable to our upcoming Reno3 Series’ impeccable photography capabilities, which is why now is the perfect time to bring Mohamed on board as our brand ambassador. This is an exciting time for us to extend our reach across the region, and potentially support local football talent in the future, too,” than Xue, President, OPPO Middle East, said.

This isn’t the first time OPPO’s looking at the world of sports for increasing exposure, as the company was previously associated with other top names here, including FC Barcelona, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and ICC.

As for the Reno3 smartphone, the Pro version comes with a 64-megapixel Zoom Quadcam camera that offers 2x optical zoom, 20x digital zoom, and a 5x hybrid optical zoom. It features an Ultra Clear 108MP sensor, as well as the world’s first 44MP + 2MP Dual Front Camera with Ultra Night Selfie Mode on OLED screen.
