Wendy Williams struggled most of her adult life with weight gain, but she swears she’s found the diet that will help her maintain her current figure. Now slimmer by another 50 pounds (22.6 kg), she is the skinniest - but also the healthiest - she’s ever been.

In a new After Show segment (see the video below), Wendy discusses her current weight and how she managed to get the figure she wanted. Obviously, it wasn’t an overnight achievement and it didn’t happen without a lot of hard work on her part, which included overhauling her diet and started to get in more exercise.

Wendy says eating healthy is key

Williams doesn’t do fad diets or detoxes and doesn’t like the idea of taking diet pills, mostly because many of the variants available on the market come with serious side-effects.

It took her time to learn this, but she now knows that losing weight and, more importantly, maintaining it in the long run, is something that requires a fundamental shift in one’s approach to food. Every little unhealthy morsel or treat that you put in your mouth and imagine doesn’t count in terms of your figure, counts.

Williams has now cut meat, dairy and sugar from her diet. She lives on vegetables and fish, and eats only in small portions, but never after dark. She also hits the gym regularly, even though she swears she doesn’t do it for weight loss (because she’s already achieved her goal), but for her heart.

She proclaims herself a fan of juicing and of kale, in whatever variant it may come: raw in salads, as chips, or whatever else she might fancy one day. A favorite dish would probably include tomatoes, green peppers and onions, but she’s also partial to a dish of pasta with red sauce.

“Stop eating so much”

Though Williams admits she misses eggs, the benefits she gets from her new diet outweigh whatever craving she might feel.

Like many other women and men, she too made the mistake to try fad diets and miracle cures that promise rapid loss with minimum effort and in record time. She knows better today.

“All the crazy diets I have ever been on, none have been as effective as just: push back fatso and stop eating so much,” she says. “Slow and steady is the name of the game, it won’t happen overnight.”
