A Twitch marathon that's trying to raise $100,000 for type 1 diabetes research has just kicked off today. More than 60 streamers will play games on Twitch for the rest of the week in an attempt to raise as much money as they can to help JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) make breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat type 1 diabetes and its complications.

Those who donate, as well as simple watchers, will be eligible for various giveaways that consist of games, swag and even consoles. More than 200 streams have been planned for the week, so if you're willing to help, you can find the full schedule here.

It's also worth mentioning that many JDRF Game2Give participants have T1D (type 1 diabetes) or have friends or family with the disease, and will share their personal stories during their streams.

Still, if you're here just for the freebies, then here are some of the week's highlights. First off, we have the Type None Grand Prix, a 6-day Mario Kart tournament with prizes including Pokémon Sword/Shield games, eShop gift cards, and Nintendo Switch consoles. For more details and sign-ups, visit the official website.

Twitcher Wavy will give away Red Dead Redemption swag donated by Rockstar Games, including a RDR2 Collector's Box, Pendleton blankets, domino sets, Barking Irons bags, and more. Make sure to tune in to the Twitch channel on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 5:30-11:30 pm PST.

Next, we have IHasCupquake who will give away a rare Grand Theft Auto V Epsilon candle, as well as GTA V games and Xbox controllers. Tune in to her Twitch channel Wednesday from 5-7 pm PST.

AverageSiege will do a 24-hour Pokémon Sword/Shield launch marathon with a Nintendo Switch console and a copy of Pokémon Sword as giveaways. The marathon starts on Friday at 7 pm PST, so make sure you follow AverageSiege's Twitch channel.

Furthermore, NASCAR driver Anthony Alfredo will stream iRacing and NASCAR Heat 4 on Wednesday, Sunday, and Monday starting at 3 pm PST on his Twitch channel, while indie singer/songwriter Resurrection Fern will raffle off a Nintendo Switch. Fern will stream live on Tuesday 4:30-7:30 pm PST and Sunday 12-3:30 pm PST.

Last but not least, DeRock1701 will give away Sid Meier's Civilization commemorative coins and art books donated by 2K Games, so tune in on Wednesday, Friday, and Monday from 7-11 PST to his Twitch channel.

If you're a streamer who wants to get involved, you can join the marathon here. Also, there's a dedicated website where you can donate for the cause.
