The Warcraft movie is happening, and it’s going to hit theaters in June. Until then, fans will be able to feast their eyes on the new full-length trailer for the film, in all of its CGI glory.

If you don’t know what a “Warcraft” is and how it is influencing your life, then the new full-length trailer for the movie with the same name won’t tell you much. It looks like a war between humans and orcs, and a more careful analysis will probably reveal that it’s some kind of comparison with our world today.

The Warcraft movie had a very troubled history, and it’s been in the works for many, many years. It was proposed and planned in a time when the World of Warcraft game was at its peak as the most played MMO in the world. It made sense to have a Warcraft game in 2006 or 2007, but that didn’t happen.

Films based on games almost never become a hit. The most we can hope from one of these films is that they don’t suck. The good news is that the Warcraft trailer shows us a different kind of experience, which is somewhat different from what we grew up with. The Orcs don’t seem to be mindless beasts bent on conquest, and there is even a weird love affair going on between a human and an Orc woman.

Warcraft: The Beginning is a little bit presumptuous

One of the first things we found out about the new movie is that it’s probably planned as the first one in the series. It has a subtitle, "The Beginning," which tells us its makers feel that it’s going to be successful enough to warrant a sequel or maybe a trilogy.

Warcraft is directed by Duncan Jones (Moon and Source Code), and it has some interesting actors like Thomas Tull (Vikings), Paula Patton, Ben Foster, and Dominic Cooper. The release date for this film is June 10, 2016.

Enjoy!
