As expected, CD Projekt Red streamed 15 minutes of Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay, during which we've been shown how a player can approach a quest in two ways using different builds and playstyles.

But it's not just combat that we're shown in the video, but some of the RPG elements implemented by CD Projekt Red, like the skill and attributes trees, as well as the character creation screen. At the start of Cyberpunk 2077, players get to choose between three backgrounds that will heavily influence where they start and what people they get to meet at the beginning of the game.

Although you get to choose one background, you can switch sides during the game whenever you feel like. The three backgrounds are Nomad, Street Kid and Corporation, and each will allow you to use specific skills in conversations.

Besides these backgrounds, you'll be able to build your character to be a solo, netrunner or techie, but you're not tied to any of these classes, as Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't punish players who choose to play hybrids. And on top of that, developer CD Projekt Red confirmed that you can finish the game without killing a single NPC.

For the first time since the game was announced, we're offered a look at another district of the Night City called Pacifica, which was previously a popular destination for tourists. After the big corporations withdraw their funds, everything kind of stopped for Pacifica, so we're seeing lots of half-finished buildings throughout the area.

Pacifica has become the territory of two rival gangs – The Voodoo Boys and The Animals. At some point during their playthroughs, players will find themselves in the middle of this conflict and they will be able to approach each mission in various ways.

From what we've been shown today and from what developers have revealed during the interview after the footage, players will have a lot of freedom in Cyberpunk 2077. If you don't know yet, the game releases for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia on April 16, 2020.
