A trailer for the Warcraft movie should arrive in November

It looks like things are finally happening for the Warcraft movie, and we get to see some more images from this elusive project. There is even a promise of a trailer that should arrive later this month.

The idea of a Warcraft movie was pitched and raised a lot of interest all the way back in 2006, but that made sense back then. World of Warcraft hadn't reached its peak yet, and a lot of gamers could have been interested in going to see something like this. It should have been a done deal, but the project got in a perpetual limbo, even after an agreement was signed with Legendary Pictures. As you can imagine, a lot of names associated with this project have come and gone.

In any case, now the Warcraft movie has a precise launch date, June 10, 2016, ten years after the original plans were made. The director is Duncan Jones, who also did a couple of other cool flicks, Moon and Source Code. Like any other movies based on games, it has the potential of being great or terrible. From what experience has taught us until now, the terrible scenario is far more likely to happen than anything else.

The Orc human eyes though

What struck me most was the fact that one of the orcs in the leaked images has some very human eyes, which is something I hadn't really expected. Games usually show us orcs to be just brutes, with no discernible intellect or desires, unlike the books. The characters are Durotan (the one with the freakishly human eyes), Anduin Lothar (the guy running from orcs, presumably), and Orgrim Doomhammer.

We can hardly wait for the official trailer to hit so that we can get a clear glimpse of what's to come and can only hope one thing: it won't suck too much.
