Polish studio Wastelands Interactive has just revealed its real-time strategy game – War Room. As the name suggests, this is a war game in which players will take the role of an American military commander and manage all troops operations in Afghanistan.

You'll be attacking terrorist bases and hideouts, send units to villages occupied by enemy forces, as well as manage your troops and equipment using a strategic map. Although you'll be playing through story missions, the game also lets you complete side objectives that will help you secure your bases and the popularity of your actions in each sector.

The developers pride themselves with the huge (1000 sq. km) 3D map based on a real map of Afghanistan, which is split into nine sectors, with one command center each. Players will start in one of the sectors where the main base is located and then make their way to the other parts of the map.

But the road to success is perilous and you'll have to attack enemy bases and hideouts, push enemies out of civilian settlements, deny them control of any territory. Basically, you'll have to search and destroy enemies in each sector to continue further, gaining ground until an entire province is under your control.

War Room includes non-linear events, which means that patrols and humanitarian missions will encounter multiple scenarios that will depend on the sector security level and population stance toward your troops.

The game can be played from two perspectives: satellite (management) and drone (tactical). Also, War Room is split into two layers – tactical and strategic. You'll be using a satellite view to manage your forces and equipment, as well as deploy drones and observe what is happening in real-time.

War Room will be launched on PC and you can already wishlist it on Steam, but the game is still under development, so it doesn't have a release date yet.
