You can quit smoking when faced with hard numbers

There aren't many things on this planet that can make people stop smoking. And if they do, it's still probably a miracle, as nothing offers a 100% percent smoking cure.

Although many things fail, others fail less, like nicotine patches. But here's something that might not fail at all if you decide to try it. And judging by its looks, it does seem hip and FitBit-ly enough to actually convince people to fight in quitting smoking, just as FitBit made running, walking and other sport activities fun and fashionable.

Called Lowiee, this aluminum cigarette pack built by a French start-up company secures your cigarettes in a tight confinement and lets them out only when certain goals are achieved. In this sense, the goal-oriented smoking habit that you can improve as time goes by and completely give up on.

Statistics and numbers could give people some positive incentive

The smartphone app will let you customize the interval and frequency of cigarettes smoked by limiting the supply of cigarettes released from the box. Apparently, the box will have a fingerprint scanner that will release cigarettes only when it authenticates you, so kids won't get to them when you aren't around.

Just like FitBit, the Lowiee app will give you statistics like the number of smoked cigarettes per week or month, and how much money you saved while doing so. But the most important thing it can do is to give accurate numbers of tar and non-absorbed nicotine. This way, you'll know exactly how much damage you can avoid by skipping a cigarette break or two.

Although it will not impose anything upon its users, it will limit their smoking habit and will bring them hard facts about how much damage smoking is incurring unto them.

The Lowiee isn't available for purchase at the moment but will probably be soon.
