Vivaldi was, is, and will certainly continue to be one of the best browsers out there, and one of the best things about it is that new updates typically come with lots of great improvements.

This is the case with the update to version 5.5, which includes several notable new features, including the Tasks panel in the sidebar.

As anyone could easily guess given its self-explanatory name, the Task panel makes it easier for users to keep track of their tasks and manage them in a more effective way, all without interrupting their browsing session.

In addition to adding and managing tasks, users can also edit the due date, the location, and the description, configure reminders, and set repetitions.

“As you finish each task, you can just tick them off as complete, and the task will disappear from the default view. Although, you have the option to display your completed tasks, as well. If you are new to Vivaldi and want to activate the Tasks Panel by default, choose the “Fully Loaded” option during the browser onboarding. Already using Vivaldi and want to activate the Tasks Panel? Simply enable Mail, Calendar, and Feed Reader in the Vivaldi Settings,” Vivaldi explains in an announcement this week.

In addition, the new update also comes with improvements against fake emails and scams in Vivaldi Mail, a more refined way to configure new email accounts in the app, and full Windows 11 support.

In other words, Vivaldi will now feel at home on Windows 11, just like Microsoft Edge (the native OS browser) does, obviously not with the same level of integration, though it does now support the new Snap experience on Windows.

“With the added support of Snap, you can automatically resize one or more windows to fill the screen upon dragging. You can choose from six different types of layouts to adjust up to 4 windows on your screen at a time. These layouts let you arrange apps on your screen in different ways. You can also choose which slot the current app should take in a layout,” the parent company says.

Vivaldi 5.5 is available for download on all supported desktop platforms today.
