The best desktop browser is getting better, as Vivaldi has just been updated to version 5.1. The new version comes with lots of goodies, including new features that users are going to love.

First and foremost, the new Vivaldi version introduces support for horizontal scrollable tabs, so if you’re one of those people working with hundreds of tabs open at the same time, doing the whole thing is much easier.

It’s not hard to figure out how the whole thing works, Just move the mouse cursor over the tab bar and then use the mouse wheel to scroll, just like you’d normally do on a website.

Obviously, the two-level bars in Vivaldi are supported as well, so right now, tab management in Vivaldi has reached a new level that you really can’t find elsewhere.

Available on all supported desktop platforms

The second new feature introduced in this update is support for Reading List, a feature that’s already available in other browsers but which is a great addition to Vivaldi’s arsenal nonetheless.

“Once enabled, select the tab you want to save to your Reading List by clicking on the book icon at the extreme right of the Address Bar. You’ll find a small popup menu where you can choose Add Current Page to the Reading List. It also maintains a page’s read/unread state, so it is easier to toss pages that are already read,” Vivaldi explains in today’s announcement.

And last but not least, Vivaldi 5.1 introduces a Quick Setting Panel that allows you to easily adjust the essential options, such as the start page, the background images, and the speed dial appearance.

Of course, the new Vivaldi 5.1 version is now available for download on all supported desktop platforms, including Windows, Linux, and macOS. You can use the links in our article to get the update.
