14 DAY TRIAL // Singing icon Patti LaBelle is ok with mingling with fans on stage during her shows, but she will not tolerate any kind of lewd behavior. That also includes whatever slight attempt at disrobing on her “Lady Marmalade,” as one fan found out the other night.
It happened during LaBelle’s show in Vancouver, after she had invited fans to join her on stage to sing. One man thought he might bring a bit more to the show, and he started taking off his clothes in what he deemed a seductive manner.
The singer initially told security she “got this!” and that she would handle the situation. As you can see in the video below, she thought giving the man a stern talking-to would help, but he would not listen.
This is when she went nuclear on him. “I am not Nicki Minaj or that little… uhm… Miley,” she told him, explaining to him why this kind of behavior was out of place at her shows. Patti has criticized these 2 singer before for their skimpy outfits and their apparent eagerness to sell their music by flashing flesh.
When it became clear to her that the fan wasn’t paying attention to what she was telling him, she got him booted by security from the stage and the building. She apologized profusely to the audience, both for the interruption (which came from the Devil, she said) and for dropping a bad word.
