Demi Lovato is currently on tour promoting her upcoming album “Confident,” with one of her most recent stops being in Berlin, where she did a radio interview that’s now gone viral. This happened for all the wrong reasons, Demi says. She’s not upset about it, though.
As you can see in the video below, during the interview, Demi agreed to take a rapid-fire series of questions for the purpose of having the audience know her better. She told the interviewer her real name, her favorite artist, her favorite song and her favorite movie, before being asked which was her favorite dish.
Demi’s answer was “I like mugs” and was taken as a sign that she had misunderstood the question and not even realized it. If you’re one of those who thought so, the joke’s on you.
As the video went viral and was hailed as yet another example of how pop stars are nothing if not monumentally stupid (remember Justin Bieber and his “Sixteen Chapel” comment?), Demi pushed back: that was just her dry sense of humor and that was that.
She even posted a hilarious photo on the topic on Instagram, showing that she’s really making the most of the attention she’s getting for the mug comment, diverting it towards her album. “Confident” is available on pre-sale now, by the way.
The mug comment is at the 2.35-minute mark below.
For anybody who actually thinks I misunderstood the "favorite dish" question - you clearly don't get my sense of humor ☕️😑
