‘90s singing sensation makes only 1 fan in funny experiment

Brandy wrote music history in the ‘90s with hits like “The Boy Is Mine” and the “Moesha” theme song, but she can virtually go by unnoticed on the subway in New York City. More than that, she can do so even if she sings her little heart out.

Brandy has been living in NYC for a while and she conducted this little experiment with her friend Frank Silent and a handheld camera. She got on the train and she started singing, in the hope that she would get some kind of feedback from her fellow subway riders.

She didn’t. Most of them, as you can see in the video below, tried really hard to pretend they heard nothing, as if Brandy wasn’t even there asking them direct questions. Only one man listened to her singing and actually provided her with some feedback, and it seems it was enough for her.

The man urged Brandy to come up with “something different” to get attention, because it would be a shame if a talent likes hers passed by unnoticed.

In a blog post, Brandy was amused by the reactions she got on the subway. Or didn’t get, better said.

“I decided to hit the subway and sing my little heart out. You've GOTTA check out this video and see why this fun-filled morning left me asking: Can a Sistah get ONE fan?!” she writes. She still loves New York though.
