Indian company Videocon launched a few affordable Android smartphones in the country in the last couple of days. The Infinium Z55 Krypton is the best of the three, even though it's far from being impressive specs-wise.

According to a new report, Videocon Infinium Z55 Krypton is now available for purchase in India for Rs 7,999 ($120 / €110) outright. Customers will be able to choose between white with silver and black with gold colors.

First of all, the smartphone comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system right out of the box, which is a good thing as you won't have to wait for an update that will never come.

The Infinium Z55 Krypton sports a decent 5-inch HD (720p) capacitive touchscreen display that features Dragontrail X Anti-Scratch glass.

1GB RAM and 8GB storage might not be enough

Hardware-wise, the Infinium Z55 Krypton is a bit disappointing as the smartphone comes equipped with a 64-bit 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735 processor, a Mali-T720 graphics processing unit and just 1GB of RAM.

Also, the smartphone packs only 8GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.

There's also a 13-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front for selfies and video calls.

Obviously, the smartphone offers dual-SIM support, but it also comes with 4G LTE. Other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with AGPS support, microUSB 2.0 and FM Radio.

Videocon Infinium Z55 Krypton is powered by a 2,200 mAh battery, which has yet to be rated by the manufacturer.

“The newly launched Z55 Krypton is a best value smart device for emerging youth consumers who want to upgrade to a more fast and powerful smartphone with 4G connectivity, extended memory and brilliant camera capabilities.

“Videocon Mobile Phones is a consumer-centric brand, and we will continue to bring the latest software innovation in Indian market at cost-effective pricing,” said Jerold Pereira, CEO, Videocon Mobile Phones.
